Our primary business is operating and managing a federal credit union. Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives, taking pride in the fact that their sole reason for existence is helping their member-owners achieve their financial dreams.
In the 1800s credit unions were started to support farmers who were otherwise unable to secure financial support from the larger financial institutions of their time.
A few farmers would pool their money to be lent to one another in support of their agricultural businesses. These small financial cooperatives grew over time and provided a means for the less fortunate to strive for a better life. |
